I am a professional with over twenty years’ experience in the educational, research & development, project management and linguistic sectors.

I have been providing high level language training, interpreting and translation services to reputed institutions throughout the UK. More recently, I have been teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Subject Modules (Social Sciences) to speakers of other languages at HE colleges, private students, businesses and language schools.

Prior to becoming a linguist, I worked as a Project Manager at the International Affairs and Innovation Technology Department at Fundacao Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ, Goncalo Moniz Institute - Bahia). During that period I had the opportunity to enhance my analytical and strategic skills, progressing from a research assistant in a trainee capacity to a Federal Analyst (civil servant), performing different roles and being involved in various international projects across the Institute. I was responsible for a small team of trainees, who assisted with the creation of the Nucleus of Technological Innovation (NIT) and the development and organization of training and communication campaigns, aimed at raising researchers and students awareness about the importance of protecting intellectual property.

All these experiences have shaped my ability to plan, focus, think strategically, train others and work both independently and as part of a team. Having been educated and professionally involved in organizational and academic environments in different countries (Brazil, Portugal and England) has provided me with not only a high level of cultural awareness, but also a large degree of flexibility and ability to adapt to different environments and circumstances. This is an added bonus which aids my tutoring skills and potential to adapt to the particular needs of my students and clients.

I enjoy looking for ways to improve processes and working in a collaborative and dynamic atmosphere, where I am given the opportunity to take responsibility for challenging projects.
