This letter is a recommendation for Adriana Cunha as an English teacher. I'm a native English speaker, and met Adriana in 2008 when she was staying in our home while attending St. Giles school in San Francisco (we hosted many students from St. Giles around that time). Adriana’s English was already very good when we met, and she has continued to improve through the years.
We’ve kept in touch mainly via email and social networks. She often has questions about English for me, either terms that aren't easy to find online -- American slang, or differences between British and American English, or to verify that her students' work is correct. Over the years these questions have gotten more detailed and subtle. Sometimes I don't even know the answer!
In any case, it's clear she has great integrity, compassion for her students, and really wants them to succeed. And she's one of the hardest working people I've ever met. I have no doubt she'll be a valued addition to any classroom, both by students and faculty.
